bHB PRESENT AT THE PRESTIGIOUS IX COTEC EUROPE MEETING
BHB joined their counterpart members in an enlightening debate about the importance of the re-industrialization in the South European countries. The event was held in Lisbon, Portugal.
BHB was invited, as member of COTEC, to be present at the IX COTEC Europa Meeting which took place on February 12th 2013, at Fundação Champalimaud in Lisbon.
In this event, chaired by the Portuguese President of the Republic, the importance of re-industrialization was discussed in the creation of skilled jobs and the boosting of the economy.
At the Technical Session of this event, BHB’s representatives at the event had the pleasure of attending an enriching debate in which Juan Mulet (General Director of Fundación COTEC Spain) underlined the importance of innovation as a pillar of re-industrialization strategy, in which Claudio Roveda (General Director of COTEC Italy) reinforced the importance of the competitiveness/sustainability binomial to overcome today’s social challenges and the competition of the newly industrialized countries in which Daniel Bessa (General Director of COTEC Portugal) addressed the issue of new technologies to support reindustrialization.
At the closing Session we would like to highlight the inspiring speeches of His Excellency, the President of the Portuguese Republic, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, His Highness, the King of Spain, D. Juan Carlos, and His Excellency, the Head of the Italian State, Giorgio Napolitano, which reinforced unequivocally of the three countries to make a commitment towards a "more effective and ambitious industrial schedule", proposing regional, national and European public policies that foster a re-industrialization process.
BHB is pleased to have assisted an unequivocal commitment made by the vice-president of the European Commission, Antonio Tajani, and the other ministers and responsible of the three countries present, for promotional access to adequate funding levels for SMEs and the establishment of a business regulatory environment more favorable to business trade with third countries.
