BHB SUPPLYS new CEMS solution for SANTOS BAROSA (PORTUGAL)
BHB was the company that Santos Barosa, S.A. (container glass bottles producer) chose to provide a new continuous emissions monitoring system for the Furnaces III and IV stacks.
Maintaining the trust in BHB, the partner that previously supplied the CEMS for the V and VI stacks, Santos Barosa S.A. adjudicated the supply of an integrated solution for the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System of the Furnaces III and IV stacks.
For the SO2, NOX and O2 monitoring, BHB chose ABB's reliable analyzer, based in the non-dispersive infrared radiation absorption (NDIR) measurement principle. Regarding the measurement of gas speed, absolute pressure and flow temperature, we've chosen DURAG's solution.
BHB performed the mechanical works, with a high level of complexity, including the implementation of new tie ins inside the concrete stack, the installation of cable trays in stainless steel from the sampling platform to the inlet of the Analyzer Cabinet and the construction/ installation of a platform and the respective supports and anchor bolts into the stack (at about 7 meters high) to install the Analyzer Cabinet.
BHB was also responsible for the electrical works, and was in charge of all the power supply cables, signal cables (analogic and binary) and the series communication cables installation. The assembly and installation of power and signal interface boxes was also included in the project scope.
The project was executed in ten weeks, contemplating the Commissioning, the Equipment Testing and the Training of the Client’s technical operators.
