Established in 1988 in the German city of Barsbüttel, Martens Elektronik, GmbH was initially created with the aim of research, designing and manufacturing of electronic devices for customized applications in process control and measurements instrumentation.

With the development of the first applications the business model evolved to the manufacturing of standard applications although there is the possibility of developing devices for unusual applications.
